After two successful editions in 2022 and 2023, where seven prominent artists took over our most captivating landmarks, we opened the chapter of yet another artistic rendezvous. Joyful Colour
At Mount Nelson
At the Nellie, who celebrates 125th anniversary this year, Buren invites us to pause at a familiar architectural element: the fountain sitting at the centre of the lush gardens. “Halte colorée pour Mount Nelson, travail in situ, 2023” , “Colourful Halt for Mount Nelson, travail in situ , 2023” is visible until mid-February 2025.

Copacabana Palace
For the second part of the MITICO journey, head to Rio de Janeiro, where the vibrancy of the city enters a colourful dialogue with the façade of our legendary Copa. “Halte colorée pour Copacabana Palace, travail in situ, 2023” , “Escala colorida para Copacabana Palace, travalho in situ, 2023” is visible until mid-September 2024.

At Castello Di Casole
Inspired by the surrounding Tusan hills, Daniel Buren’s work consists of three ‘portals’ within the hotel’s gardens, creating new focal points from which to view its sprawling panoramic vista. “Halte colorée pour Castello di Casole, travail in situ, 2023” , “Sosta colorata per Castello di Casole, lavoro in situ, 2023” is visible until November 2024.

At Villa San Michele
Inspired by the surrounding rolling Fiesole Hills, the hotel bar’s glass roof is the unique location of Buren’s work, where a myriad of coloured reflections sweep the space with the transit of the sun. At Hotel Cipriani
Inspired by the hotel’s historical fountain, Daniel Buren’s circular structure of coloured windows and doors mirrors the majestic landscape surrounding Hotel Cipriani, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the hotel's serene oasis. “Halte colorée pour Hotel Cipriani, travail in situ, 2023”, Daniel Buren, Sosta colorata per Hotel Cipriani, lavoro in situ, 2023” is visible until September 2024.
Translucent Colour
At La Residencia
At La Residencia, Daniel Buren has created a mesmerising translucent pergola that projects a rainbow onto the ground, inviting you to rest and contemplate the beauty of the Mallorquin landscape with fresh eyes. “Halte colorée pour La Residencia, travail in situ, 2023” , “Descanso colorido para La Residencia, trabajo in situ, 2023” is visible until November 2024.

Arcangelo Sassolino
At La Residencia
Examining the friction between industrial progress and environmental concerns, Arcangelo Sassolino’s HUNGER (2006/2007) was featured at La Residencia, where its lack of all function and vain attempts to grab the concrete floor brought reflection upon the real weight of technology.
Yoan Capote
At Villa Sant’Andrea
Born in La Havana, Cuba, Yoan Capote investigates topics such as emigration, emotions and alienation through his art — common experiences of human beings, regardless of their origins. At Villa Sant’Andrea, Family Portrait (2022) featured old house mirrors offering the viewer a meaningful reflection on family members and their connection to each other.

For MITICO, the artist presented visual analogies between the inanimate object and the human mind throughout Stress, Displaced (2019), Self-portrait, Study of Resistance (2019), Urban Nature (2021) and Deriva (2022).
Nari Ward
At Castello Di Casole
American artist Nari Ward collects discarded objects and salvaged materials found in his local area in New York. In 2023, Ward took residence in the gardens of Castello Di Casole with Stallers (2013), an exploration of the crucial passage from childhood to the adult age.
Sun Yuan & Peng Yu
At Villa San Michele
The Beijing-based conceptual artists is known for their thought-provoking ad unconventional work. For MITICO, the duo took Teenager Teenager (2011) to Villa San Michele, Florence, revealing what hides behind appearances and portraying dichotomies between reality and ideals.
Loris Cecchini
At Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons
Loris Cecchini explored the relationship between the organic and the artificial, attempting to “create a poetic suspension” and link the shapes of Nature to technology through his art. At Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons, Arborexence (2023), a sculptural installation made of stainless steel, spread in harmony with the surrounding space.

At Hotel Cipriani
Combined with a culinary performance, “Cooking the world” was curated by art consultant Hervé Mikaeloff. The immersive installation, a large house fashioned from thousands of pots, pans and utensils with a fully working kitchen inside, was conceived as a place for meetings, discussions and debates.
Leandro Erlich
At Villa San Michele
Nestled amidst the Italian gardens of Villa San Michele, Leandro Erlich’s MITICO installation was a large scale piece, depicting a ladder leading to a real window. A true challenge of viewers’ concept of reality.
Michelangelo Pistoletto
At Castello Di Casole
Immersed in the Tuscan countryside, Pistoletto’s sculptures reigned over the estate’s expansive 4,200 acre grounds. Named “Gli Etruschi - Accarezzare gli alberi” meaning “The Etruscans - Caress the trees”, these have been selected with the beautifully restored 10th century castle in mind, the grounds where Etruscan civilization first took root.
Pascale Marthine Tayou
At Grand Hotel Timeo
Born in Cameroon in 1966, Pascale Marthine Tayou’s work is deliberately mobile and heterogeneous, linked to the idea of travel and spontaneity. With “Les Routes du Paradis”, the artist beckons guests to discover the beautiful, vibrant spaces surrounding us.
